Fam-damily Reunion...

Here we goooooooo:

The .....? ummmmmmmmm... yeah, the last weekend in June, myself, matt, spence, jess and mom drove up to Salt Lake for the family reunion. We left EARRRRRLY Fri so we could get there and head over to Lagoon that afternoon with Clayt and Jen. It has been...at least 5 years since I've been there, so it was a lot of fun to revisit some of the old rides and try out some of the newer ones!

First up: "The Great White"

Next: "Mouse Trap"

Now, Clayt has packed on some 50lbs over the course of the past year, so watching him get in and out of a few of the rides was a sight to be seen....so I caught one of these moments to share with ya'll:

Clayt squeeeeeeezing into "The Spider"

almooost in...

perrrrfect fit!

Matty and Spence both wanted to give the 3point challenge a try...

Spence ended with a respectable 3 baskets...

Matty was up next (doesn't he look tall? :( I hate it)

Though his form was impeccable, he ended the round with
a humiliating 2!!!

On to the bumper cars
(these shots were all 'live action shots' taken by yours truly during the pandemonium)

Matt couldn't figure out how the car worked so he was moving in reverse throughout the entire ride :P Dork!
THE ROCKET!!!
(ps, you'll notice, we all coincidentally wore some shade(s) of gray. cute. matchy matchy. mom would've been soooo proud!)

Anticipation....

Matty and Clayt are wusses and opted out of "the rocket" experience. While they waited, Matt decided to pull up a bench....and this cutie family followed suit. He is SUCH a social butterfly!

Easliy the best moment of this Lagoon trip happened as the ride SHOT straight up and various strands of words SHOT straight out of Jen's mouth! Thought I was going to die laughing. Hilarious. Absolutely hilarious.

Survivors.

My favorite ride, "wicked." Seriously such a smooth ride, and soooo much fun!

All in all, it was an excellent afternoon at the Lagoon. Very few people, walked on to nearly every single ride and had the longest wait time at the RIDICULOUS snow cone stand (twice) and even MORE RIDICULOUS "haunted house." laaaame.

REUNITED:
Same park. Same weekend. Same people. Same food. Same time. Same set up.
Same old, same old.

There's got to be something said for the consistency of these Woodall family reunions. Seriously. It is impressive! Without fail, these events have been held annually for ...ever. (maybe not that long, but...probably) Per usual, we showed up to the park fashionably late (3o min after "start time), which happens to be about 20 min before everyone else shows up. We survey the scene...then shoot off to Big5 to spend money on the same items we get every year (volleyball/net, kickball, frisbee, hats). Tradition.

We ate, we chatted, we ate again...and then we raffled:

me. and my system.

Win number one!
(an AWESOME whale floaty for the pool)

1/2 of the Knowles...

Jen OWNING the slide-a-puzzle

Win #2!!

YUP! A FUNNN GUNNNNNN!!!

Win #2 for the Knowles...

Phoenix and James :)

Jess, James and Sylvie

Oh, I snapped a pic of the back of Kerra with this odd contraption on/about her being. I don't have a pic of the front, but there is an infant tightly strapped to the front of this thing. no buckle, no tightening straps, just...lots of crisscrossed fabric!??

Ok story: So, the special watergun we won in the raffle was indeed special. It had a classic pump-thing (you know those guns you had to pump a ton, so that when you pulled the trigger the water stream shot out painfully strong/forcefully??), but no trigger. Clayt started to "pump" the gun...without realizing there was no trigger......or that it was aimed directly at my poor, innocent, unassuming cousin angie's FACE, and shot her directly. I missed the actual event, but the story still makes me laugh! Anyway, Jen and Clayt may or may not have gotten into a bit of a water gun fight.

And this is Jen keeping a decent distance from Clayt.
Locked and loaded.

The Davis bunch
(what a bunch of lookers we are...)

Jess and Alyssa (who had just come from a basketball game)

Rich buggin' on Sylvie

The attending Tuttle's with Gma and Gpa D

Me, Grandpa and Jess!!! :)

After the reunion the kids, clayt, jen and myself went to Red Iguana (awesome mexican restaurant in the HEART (/ghetto) of downtown SLC) and met up with Clayt's bff Nate and his wife and new baby Clayton
It was really good food and so great to see these people...

aaand to capture this moment on camera.

After we ate, we were pooped and headed back to grandma's to rest and relax before the baby blessing later that evening.
Jess and Uncle Rick found a cozy spot on the awesome upstairs couch

The blessing was really cool. I've never been to one outside of the church, but Rich wanted Grandpa to be there so they had Logan's blessing in the living room of my grandparent's house.

The Richard Davis's

I had a really good time. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to go. Families are crazy....but awesome.

Mine in particular :)

Haps and mishaps

Another catch-up post:

I'm not sure if I posted this pic yet...but if not, a major shout out to Amo ('Manda Olson)!!! She sent this little beauty to me:
A cute little family celebrating a nice breakfast on Mother's Day...

at McDonald's...

Wait.

a table cloth??!

BAHAHAHHAHAHAAAAAA!
Love it.

Speaking of mother's...
This little gem gave me cause for a few additional gray hairs this month...

She sure knows how to party.

Oh.

And she LOVES hospitals
(especially when she's the patient)

Cliff Notes: One somewhat alarming phone conversation with Celeste, a 6min trip from work to St Rose hospital, a 5hr ER wait (involving dye, awesome people watching and a CT scan), 3 bags of blood (transfusion), and one overnight stay later.... mom was much better.

And I got to stare at all 4'10" of McYummy for a good part of the night too.
Special.

Moving on...
I've been able to enjoy my fair share of the AWESOME weather (minus the wind) we experienced during this year's May, and sometimes...I think Vegas is just so beautiful

Right??

The Age of Wisdom (extractions):

Both Jess and Spence were able to have their wisdom teeth extracted on the same day!!! Lucky ducks! The appt was at 8am and my cute mom took the day off to take care of them (and herself) and I went along for the ride...

Here are the pics to document that event:

Before we left, I noticed that mom had set things up (in true Nancy-form) so that once the kids were done and home, they could crash on the green couch to commence the healing period...

She had also filled latex gloves with water and froze them and some wet rags for the kids (to reduce/prevent swelling)

I sware!
My mom is the BEST!!!

Kind of out of order, but I did make sure the kids watched Finding Nemo (perfect and TOTALLY appropriate pic) when they got home...

Sooo excited!!!

We took them to Nevada Oral and Facial Surgery (BOMB!!!) and here are their operating Dr's credentials.

Bottom line: he knows a thing or two about a thing or two...

Spence (don't even lie) was really nervous. He'd apparently heard a few horror stories...but the kid only ended up having the two mandibular 3rds! Brat!

Cute! :)

Aaaand after.

If there's a heaven, I'll figure out how to post videos from my phone on here so you all may see the video I shot of her and my car ride home right after this appt. It involves a serious conversation about hating Selena Gomez for dating Justin Bieber (all her), racism, hawaii and a bit of singing....brilliant!

Drugged Spence.
Lookin' good kid!

Healing buddies 4 life.

Let the healing begin!

Jess swoll up a bit, but nothing bad. She was totally back to her good old self after 3 or 4 days. Spence is a punk and didn't swell AT ALL!! Just a bit of soreness! Done and Done.

Oh. My sewing lesson:
Santa brought me a sewing machine for Christmas. I've started on some pajama pants (4months ago. ...I'll finish 'em. ...someday), but I had to make some adjustments to my new scrub pants, and mom actually made me do it! (as you see here, she was doing the first to demo the process for me, but I had to actually sew! That's what moms are for! Ugh. I hate growing up)

Just as I was finishing up, this guy (sam) came over. He began mocking me/smack talking ("I can do that sooo much better," etc), so I decided he could try/finish the last pant leg.

He didn't do toooooo terribly and was able to finish before mom and jess could find a camera...then made us reenact the scene ...? So the pic you see above is purely an act. Me, happily sitting next to a sewing machine and him, actually sewing (Oscar-worthy, maybe?).

I sure hope that through some sort of miraculous creeping, someone from his family is able to witness this pic. I'm pretty sure they'd agree it's very near priceless.

Acoustic Night and Serendipity:

Myself, Jess and my friend Seriza got to attend an acoustic night, which involved 12 different acts (we each had friends in one or more of the acts), out by Red Rock a few weeks ago (located on some roof top/balcony deal. Very cool spot):

I enjoyed the company of the fire pit/heater-deal for most of the performances, but I thought it was really fun! :)

Afterwards, we went on over to Cesar's and had frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity!
Cheeeeeeeeese!

Cheeeeeeeeeese!^2

Odds and Ends:

Me and mini me went looking for swim covers the other day. We shopped separately, but went into the dressing rooms at the same time to try our stuff on and show off when we had something on we kinda' liked.

Welp. Here's how the most recent "I'm a different person than you, get out of my head" incident went down:

Me (from my dressing room): Oh dang. This one is short
Jess (from her room): Mine is shorter. But it's kinda cute how it ties and makes the waist look smaller
Me: No, mine is definitely shorter.
Jess: Ha! Doubt it.
Me (out in the main area): K, come out, let's see. Look at mine...
Jess (starts opening her dressing room door): OH MY H%*#!!! (slams her door shut)
Me: WHAT?! It's not THAAAT bad! Geesh! (now looking into the mirror self consciously)
Jess: UGH!

She then opened the door and I understood...
As Celeste put it, "Twins Basil!"

I love when Matt is nice.
I hate that Matt is getting tall.
:(

I loved this little article in cosmo!!!
Soooooo true! :D

Well...that's all I got for now...and my next post will most likely occur on the other side of an 8 day trip to Maui!!!

say what??

As I've mentioned before on here, I check my horoscope (on Yahoo!) daily. Why, I dunno. I don't believe in them. At all. But for whatever reason, their cryptic nature intrigues me, so I continue to read them.

My horoscope today, however, was a particular doozy:

Quickie

You may be feeling gloomy this afternoon -- fun

friends can improve your mood.

Overview

Your imaginative nature is ramped up quite a bit today, which may lead to killer ideas or fanciful whimsy. In either case, follow your creative thoughts relentlessly to see where they lead.

WHAAAAT?

Anyone want to venture a guess as to what on EARTH the "quickie" and "overview" have to do with one another, let alone what they mean individually?

Who writes this crap?! "fanciful whimsy"? UGH! I'd want to punch myself if those two words escaped my mouth in any sort of sequence, but one right after the other? Someone got paid for that??? Come ON!

Seriza has a cat fetish...

(not really, but I thought the post-title had a nice ring to it)

Phone conversation after work today:
Seriza: did you check your email?
Me: No. I was sick yesterday
Seriza: You check people.com daily, I KNOW you checked it yesterday...but you didn't bother to check your email?
Me: NOPE. I've got to keep up on my celeb haps and tweets
Seriza: Who the crap do you follow on twitter?
Me: ...Justin Bieber.
Seriza: ...I'm okay with that. Go check your email, I sent an amazing video.
Me: mmmk.

So, I checked the email, and...please, seriously, go here:

NOW!
GO!!!

ps. cats are soooo dumb
pps. I hate cats.
ppps. sorry Sle'

Chelsea lately ...

is hilarious. And while I watch the show, let's update, shall we?

Life, lately, has been freakin' amazing (all things considered). :) Nothing in particular...but I have a few really good things going on...and have had some fun things happen recently, which I'm thinking...has led to the culmination of this particular time in my short little life (no dad, I was not at your high school graduation).

Once again, I took the liberty of capturing a few glimpses into the "life of beck," and wanted to share...enjoy!:

On my last night of clinic this semester, the heavens opened...god smiled upon my soul and the angels sent down warm fuzzies in the form of this "Gem" of a human being. Those of you who went to hygiene school with me will appreciate this pic (disguised for privacy...;). This lady used to teach at the school, but was basically forced into retirement because of her lunacy (she's nearly 70 years old). For those of you interested, she gave up her hygiene license so she could focus on her laser art business (which is declaring bankruptcy in August) and retold me the story of her being held at knife-point at the age of 16 a whopping 3 times!!! IN ONE NIGHT!!!

Lady, you are insane in the membrane, yo'!

(PS. I'm pretty sure Emily B. and I took some amazing notes in Nutrition and Special patients, most of which I still have, Emily as well---god willing---so if you're feeling sluggish in either of those areas, hit me up!)

Baby Showers: Okay, let's talk. No, I don't looooove ooey gooey babies. No I don't love when grown-"a" adults talk ridiculous to little squishy, stupid, adorable babies. No, I don't particularly love going to baby showers and oodling over women with large bellies and horrible parasites (soon to be babies)....BUT, I'll go. I'll go out of support for the human being I love/know/knew before they were infected with mushy-baby-itis.

But also...
if you're going to have the effrontery to register for something as ridiculous as a whirlpool bubbling spa and shower......I'm probably going to buy it for you.
*dap* Reg.
Hope your kid loves showering as much as I do!

In my previous post I had mentioned that I went and saw Fast Five (Go. See it now. With me. Again. AWESOME!). Well, the very next day, on my way to church, I ended up waiting at a red behind this gem...and couldn't help but think it was a sign from god, telling me I should follow the car because, chances are, the person behind the wheel looks like....

this...
or...
this....

....or even
this...

but like a stupid, dumb, idiot girl...I went to church instead...and got to sit near:
THIS.
("Bow-Tie SUNDAY" at the singles ward)
Mhm. Just....don't. I don't need to hear it. I've punished myself enough, thank you.

On mother's day, we all had the opportunity to talk to billiam (sounds great, doing good, can't wait to have him back!), and while mom was upstairs finishing up with him, Jess and I started installing the new washer (YUP) so I asked the boys to arrange one of mom's gifts (5 large trellises...she loves gardening and such, k?) nicely so that when she came downstairs she'd be surprised and excited...
and this is what I get.
Specials, I tell ya

Ha!
Jess found this book on Amazon while posting her books to sell. Just HAD to share with the masses. I'm pretty sure I need to marry the author. This book kicks "Good Night Moon's" TRASH!

SOMETIMES....I'm a tad dramatic. SOMETIMES...I hate doing what I must. ALL TIMES..I hate putting away laundry. I may or may not have complained for nearly two full hours (obnoxiously loudly)...and finally:
my sweet angel sister came to my rescue!
She's bomb.
TAKE THAT evil laundry demons!
(if only you could see the five loads lounging on the bed to my left
...just staring at me....mockingly...ugh.)

And just so you know...
they even have a fragrance to prove it.
