Family Reunion 2012

The Woodall Family reunion occurs on the last Saturday of June, EVERY SINGLE YEAR. It's kind of a pain, but it is also pretty cool (when you think about how long the tradition has gone on and how many people still go...even though most only actually know a small hand full of the individuals in attendance). This year, the reunion was particularly whirlwind-ish. All of us (minus Dad and Bill who had to work that day but drove up EARLY Sat morning) drove up together early the Fri morning before the reunion so mom could help Grandma with the prep and us kids could go to Lagoon. After Lagoon (Tuttle kids, Knowles kids and Davis kids) we all went to Iceberg and got icecream/chatted.

The next day started with a fun twist: I got ready downstairs and when I walked upstairs to see if there was anything I could do to help, I saw mom on a stool with her hand in the air and her face EXTREMELY pale. Come to find out she had sliced her thumb nearly off using one of those infomercial vegetable slicers...

Celeste took her to the ER

and then to the pharmacy for pain meds and supplies...

while the rest of us headed over to the park that the reunion always takes place at and helped with the set up. Dad and Bill got there as we were still setting up and then everyone else started arriving shortly thereafter.

Volleyball, Food, Tug-O-War, the famous Raffle, awkward hugs, greetings, introductions (/re-introductions), tons of pictures and lots of catch-up happened here:

Most of the boys :)

The only way we could get mom away from it all,
hand in hand...

We had to rush outta there before everything wrapped up and was cleaned up (which KILLED mom, resident angel-child) because our flight to Maui left really early the following morning and we still had a ton of packing/prep to do for that. We booked it out of SLC, stopped for dinner at Chuck-o-Rama and got home to prepare for PARADISE!!!...
