Fam-damily Reunion...

Here we goooooooo:

The .....? ummmmmmmmm... yeah, the last weekend in June, myself, matt, spence, jess and mom drove up to Salt Lake for the family reunion. We left EARRRRRLY Fri so we could get there and head over to Lagoon that afternoon with Clayt and Jen. It has been...at least 5 years since I've been there, so it was a lot of fun to revisit some of the old rides and try out some of the newer ones!

First up: "The Great White"

Next: "Mouse Trap"

Now, Clayt has packed on some 50lbs over the course of the past year, so watching him get in and out of a few of the rides was a sight to be seen....so I caught one of these moments to share with ya'll:

Clayt squeeeeeeezing into "The Spider"

almooost in...

perrrrfect fit!

Matty and Spence both wanted to give the 3point challenge a try...

Spence ended with a respectable 3 baskets...

Matty was up next (doesn't he look tall? :( I hate it)

Though his form was impeccable, he ended the round with
a humiliating 2!!!

On to the bumper cars
(these shots were all 'live action shots' taken by yours truly during the pandemonium)

Matt couldn't figure out how the car worked so he was moving in reverse throughout the entire ride :P Dork!
THE ROCKET!!!
(ps, you'll notice, we all coincidentally wore some shade(s) of gray. cute. matchy matchy. mom would've been soooo proud!)

Anticipation....

Matty and Clayt are wusses and opted out of "the rocket" experience. While they waited, Matt decided to pull up a bench....and this cutie family followed suit. He is SUCH a social butterfly!

Easliy the best moment of this Lagoon trip happened as the ride SHOT straight up and various strands of words SHOT straight out of Jen's mouth! Thought I was going to die laughing. Hilarious. Absolutely hilarious.

Survivors.

My favorite ride, "wicked." Seriously such a smooth ride, and soooo much fun!

All in all, it was an excellent afternoon at the Lagoon. Very few people, walked on to nearly every single ride and had the longest wait time at the RIDICULOUS snow cone stand (twice) and even MORE RIDICULOUS "haunted house." laaaame.

REUNITED:
Same park. Same weekend. Same people. Same food. Same time. Same set up.
Same old, same old.

There's got to be something said for the consistency of these Woodall family reunions. Seriously. It is impressive! Without fail, these events have been held annually for ...ever. (maybe not that long, but...probably) Per usual, we showed up to the park fashionably late (3o min after "start time), which happens to be about 20 min before everyone else shows up. We survey the scene...then shoot off to Big5 to spend money on the same items we get every year (volleyball/net, kickball, frisbee, hats). Tradition.

We ate, we chatted, we ate again...and then we raffled:

me. and my system.

Win number one!
(an AWESOME whale floaty for the pool)

1/2 of the Knowles...

Jen OWNING the slide-a-puzzle

Win #2!!

YUP! A FUNNN GUNNNNNN!!!

Win #2 for the Knowles...

Phoenix and James :)

Jess, James and Sylvie

Oh, I snapped a pic of the back of Kerra with this odd contraption on/about her being. I don't have a pic of the front, but there is an infant tightly strapped to the front of this thing. no buckle, no tightening straps, just...lots of crisscrossed fabric!??

Ok story: So, the special watergun we won in the raffle was indeed special. It had a classic pump-thing (you know those guns you had to pump a ton, so that when you pulled the trigger the water stream shot out painfully strong/forcefully??), but no trigger. Clayt started to "pump" the gun...without realizing there was no trigger......or that it was aimed directly at my poor, innocent, unassuming cousin angie's FACE, and shot her directly. I missed the actual event, but the story still makes me laugh! Anyway, Jen and Clayt may or may not have gotten into a bit of a water gun fight.

And this is Jen keeping a decent distance from Clayt.
Locked and loaded.

The Davis bunch
(what a bunch of lookers we are...)

Jess and Alyssa (who had just come from a basketball game)

Rich buggin' on Sylvie

The attending Tuttle's with Gma and Gpa D

Me, Grandpa and Jess!!! :)

After the reunion the kids, clayt, jen and myself went to Red Iguana (awesome mexican restaurant in the HEART (/ghetto) of downtown SLC) and met up with Clayt's bff Nate and his wife and new baby Clayton
It was really good food and so great to see these people...

aaand to capture this moment on camera.

After we ate, we were pooped and headed back to grandma's to rest and relax before the baby blessing later that evening.
Jess and Uncle Rick found a cozy spot on the awesome upstairs couch

The blessing was really cool. I've never been to one outside of the church, but Rich wanted Grandpa to be there so they had Logan's blessing in the living room of my grandparent's house.

The Richard Davis's

I had a really good time. I'm so glad we had the opportunity to go. Families are crazy....but awesome.

Mine in particular :)
