GET. 'CHO. TONSILS. OUT!

Okay, I had a really long conversation with a patient today about "bad breath." She was really concerned because no matter what she does...her breath is still rank!

I reviewed/asked about every possible cause...and then looked in her mouth. The woman had... friggin' HUGE tonsils. I asked her if she had ever experienced tonsil stones, she said that she had and that she's "quite a pro" at removing them...

I asked about her "technique," and she shared with me the (apparently) common "q-tip removal method." She also suggested I go home and YOUTUBE some videos on tonsil stone removals (just in case I run across future patients that need some pointers).

Well. Let me just tell you how difficult that was for me (and I can handle A LOT, when it comes to medically "gross" stuff). An hour after starting to view these wonderfully disgusting videos, I found THE MOST AMAZING video here:

The annual "Celebrate Nancy" Day

My mom stopped having birthdays, but still allows us one day each year to celebrate her above-ground, heart-beating status.

Now, I'm not sure why, but several people (this year...?), apparently concerned with my anti-turkey status, posed the question: "What CAN you eat on Thanksgiving??!"

Lovely Thanksgiving. Smallest group we've had in...over a decade, but still nice. We rounded out the evening with Pretty Woman and the televised Taylor Swift concert...not too shabby. Hope your day was fantastic!

Harry Potter ^7 - Part I

Me, my sibs and some friends all gathered to watch one of the harry potter movies each night starting a week before the midnight release of the 7th movie.

Yeah, I'm a dork. So what?

This ended up being sooo much fun! I knew scheduling would be really tricky and some nights tons of people were watching, other nights just a few bodies occupied the beloved "green couch," but no matter what, there was a movie playing each night.

Most nights, we tried to do something wizarding-world related.

One night we had Chocolate Frogs and "Berty Bott's Every Flavored" Jelly Beans. We took turns trying some of the disgusting Jelly Beans (Yeah. I got the sausage flavored one...and also learned from Dom that, "vomit tastes better than black pepper." bahaha).

Another night we experimented with Rice Krispies...

Anyway, we went to the midnight show and had around 30 people in our group. Everyone brought goodies and...yeah, it was really fun :)

(Oh, and I loved the movie and CAN NOT WAIT until the next movie!)

Quick thoughts...

Celeste moved...from the second level of an apartment .5 miles away...to the second level of an apartment 50 miles away. That was fun.

And by fun I mean totally miserable.
