iSew

Well...technically, iTieBlankets...

I thought it would be fun to learn to make a tie quilt and, no better time than conference weekend, right?

So, I went over to Seriza's (her dad made these awesome quilting frames that made the entire process SO much easier) and we made two quilts (a boy quilt and a girl quilt) that I'm going to take over to the hospital for some orphaned children or something (no joke).

Buuuut, with this new skill comes new obligation. Celeste's beloved pink lap-blanket is basically a rag now, so she asked that I make her a blanket for her birthday. We went over to Joann's, she picked the material and...I made her a blanket.

(I borrowed the quilting frames and mom and I watched "The King's Speech"
while working our fingers to the bone...)

(obviously)

Me, bed head--mwahaha--, my green tea and a needle and thread.
Typical.

I was able to figure out the binding-process as well (sucks), and though it's cheaper, faster, more convenient and just as satisfying (to me, at least) to BUY a blanket, they did turn out pretty cute! I just have to sew the binding to the boy blanket (it's already pinned) and then I can drop them off. I'll let you know how that goes...

And the best part of this blog? "Me, bed head--mwahaha--, my green tea and a needle and thread.
Typical" (Yeah, those things go together like PB&J.)
