Spence's soccer season is finally winding down and we're now in the ...playoffs? I don't know. Anyway, today I was able to attend a game out at friggen' Rancho High School (if your familiar with Vegas, it's right off of Bonanza and Mexico*). We played Desert something (oasis? pines? valley? something) and here are a few glimpses of what keep me coming back to high school soccer games...
The Acting:
since 99.2% of the people present are ESL's*,
soccer games can be the BEST/cheapest/most entertaining
form of Spanish-refreshment out there
(obviously coming in at a close second to none other than the amazing telenovelas)
Watching Spence (#15) socialize...
"hey dude, what up? cool shirt."
GO!
The Spectators/Hecklers:
They're all really horrible
(no, i'm not being biased. it's the god's honest truth)
but EVERY TIME I see them "deliver" a card...I can't help but think of this gem:
the half time pep talk from Uganda and Chaz (<--who pranced himself onto the
field in a 'moment of passion' and ended up with a pretty little red card)
The Lone Goalie:
What an awful position.
Either you're standing there doing nothing...
or you're getting the futbol launched at your face 100,000mph.
The WINners!!! :)
"SORRY 'BOUT IT"
So yeah, we won! which is my favorite thing. This means we go to ..regionals? whatev, there's another game Saturday against EHS (which, despite common misconception, does not stand for Ecuador High School, nor El Salvador High School).
Good luck Gators!
(-ish. if they win that game, they go to reno the following week and...brrrrrr, is the only thing coming to mind :\)
*no, i'm not being a racist. go there and see for yourself. i'm merely reporting facts here
wow Holy posts.
ReplyDeleteI take back all previous "Best Blog" comments.
ReplyDeleteThis was the HANDSDOWN WINner!!! I have never laughed to em-effing hard.
Gayest Referee? I laughed at him.
Creeper Karen? I shuddered at her.
Comments about ESL's? I support 'em.
But I'm Not a Rapper.
P.S. Your comments of Spence being social with the groping keeper/defender? #winning!
Nuff Said. Call Ed.
