Art in the Park :)

For the last three years, I've been able to go down to Boulder City on the first weekend of October to witness one of the most eccentric experiences this state has to offer (and I believe that is sayin' somethin'!).

People come from all over to showoff/sell/buy/browse through booth after booth, tent after tent, aisle after aisle of...total crap. I love it.

Many of the booths are quite similar, selling organic preserves, ODD jewelry, wall hangings, homemade holiday/sporting paraphernalia, etc.

I love that these people fancy themselves mighty-crafters capable of producing all kinds of "must haves" and knickknacks...

Sorely mistaken souls.

This event is PRIME people/animal watching and on the whole, incredibly visually stimulating...something you really, really have to experience first hand!

Here are some shots of the festivities as well as a few of the things you will come across at the park:

Tent after tent after tent...

Beauty.

What. the. duck.

Snowcone :)

Adolescent...readers?!?!?!?

Yep. Dog hats.

Vizzini: "Not remotely. Because iocane comes from Australia, as everyone knows, and Australia is entirely peopled with criminals, and criminals are used to having people not trust them, as you are not trusted by me, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you."

Man in Black: "Truly, you have a dizzying intellect."

... :D

Humperdinck: "Iocaine! I'd bet my life on it. And there are the princesses footprints. She is alive, or was an hour ago ... if she is otherwise, I shall be very put out!"

(all these quotes racing through my mind as I stare at this random clear glass...with a skull/crossbones and the word "Iocane"...wth?...good show though!

Later! :)

  1. That EXACT SCENE from the best movie ever played through my head as I saw that cup with said word on it. Why didn't you buy that cup? You could have wonderful conersations if it were a centerpiece in a China Hutch or son'sing.... :)
